Conclusion
The end of this story raises some hard questions. Did French radio arrive too late in Saskatchewan? In 1952 the new stations are targeting an audience which has got into the habit of listening to radio in English -- and that does not take into account their attraction to the new medium of television… in English. This irony of fate in no way minimizes the value of the cause which rallied all French-Canadian people in Saskatchewan. However, we have to wonder if French radio would have survived up to this point if Radio-Canada had not taken over. It's up to the Fransaskois today to justify this valuable tool for bringing together their community, by making it the instrument of a strong and truly living culture.
